My name is Amy Roberts. I grew up in Boone, Iowa. I come from a very close family--I consider my mom and sister to be two of my best friends. I love to hang out at home, read, travel, exercise, and see movies. After high school I chose to attend the University of Northern Iowa, and began taking classes the Fall of 2005. I initially started out as a Studio Art major, which eventually turned into Graphic Design. I also started out taking Spanish classes, intending to work towards a minor. After studying abroad for a semester in Spain, I fell in love with the language and culture, and decided to go all out and get a second major. |
It wasn't until after visiting the third grade class my sister teaches in Denver, Colorado that I realized teaching was where I needed to be. Working with and getting to know kids on such a personal level has brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. Each child is unique and has so much to offer. All it takes is one person willing to listen to them and give them a chance to inspire them to succeed. Aside from teaching, I am engaged to be married this summer to my high school sweetheart, Jeremy. I am very excited to soon be starting this new phase of my life with him, and my little dog, Trin! It should be an adventure! |
